ACCOMODATIONS

You will be impressed with the Haciendas' efforts to provide clean comfortable housing and meals.  Volunteers stay in the farm house located in the 15 family town of Soledad, approximately 15 KM or 30 minutes from the port.  The house is equipped with rooms that contain between 4 and 6 beds and allows for the maximum of 20 occupants.  Temperatures tend to drop at night but you will find the house well insulated and warm, especially underneath the many supplied blankets.  The house contains a common area where daily meals are served.  A separate women's and men's bathroom with hot- and room- temperature water is located just outside the house.

Price includes 3 meals a day, but if requested, volunteers can cook in the kitchen that contains a refrigerator and stove with oven.  Volunteers are encouraged to place all food in the kitchen to diminish the threat of pests.  La Hacienda's staff understands that some people may have delicate stomachs and utilizes fresh ingredients and good hygiene when preparing food.  The house has purified water that is brought in large quantities to diminish waste and volunteers are encouraged to bring water bottles.

In addition to staying at La Hacienda, for larger groups camping can be organized with or without volunteering.
